Holly Hill Hospital Partnering with NAMIHospital chosen to be business partner for annual walk
RALEIGH, N.C. – (March 26, 2010) – For the second year in a row, Holly Hill Hospital, a Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. (PSI) facility, has been chosen as the business partner for the North Carolina chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness’ annual fundraising event, “NAMIWalks.” “People should be able to seek the help they need, without worrying if they will be perceived in a negative way,” said Dr. Rob Turner, chief executive officer of Holly Hill. “Our ultimate goal with this partnership is to help raise money, raise awareness and reduce the stigma associated with mental illness. We hope our participation will highlight the need for more people to get involved.” Last year, Holly Hill became the first business partner of the North Carolina chapter’s event. More than 770 walkers participated. Overall, $112,000 was raised for NAMI. The money goes to help support awareness, research and recovery efforts. “Our fundraising effort was a tremendous success,” said Turner. “We raised more than $8,000, making Holly Hill the number one team for fundraising for NAMI in North Carolina.” Turner personally raised $5,000, to make him the top individual online fundraiser in North Carolina and one of the top five in the United States. This year, the walk will be held Saturday, May 1, on the campus of Dorothea Dix Hospital in Raleigh. About Holly Hill Hospital About Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. (PSI) ### |
